Fox & Fern: a coffee shop, rebranded in a hurry
The building sold, the shop sold, and the old brand walked out the door. We had to build a new coffee shop identity, fast.
The chaos
A Bend coffee shop and the building it sat in changed hands almost overnight. The previous owners weren't interested in franchising or keeping the brand, so the new owners inherited a shop with no name and no identity. They respected what the old owners had built and wanted to keep a few things, but they had no clear direction for what came next. There was also very little time.
The clarity
The new owners trusted me with the creative direction, which made a huge difference. I put a handful of options in front of them, they picked one, and it needed very few tweaks. That let us start building right away.
Then the scope grew. They also had Airbnbs above the shop and wanted those branded too, as the Fox Den. The fun part was letting the two brands play off each other. The challenge was making sure they worked as one story.
What I built
The complete brand identity for Fox & Fern
Merch they sell in the shop today
Drinkware, stickers, and other small goods
The visual identity the interior designer used for the wallpaper and decor
Branding for the Fox Den Airbnbs
The result
A shop that looks and feels like its own place, with a brand you can see on the cups, the walls, and the merch shelf. [Add a quote from the owners.]
